Day of Graduation
Arrival Time /Dress Code – May 23, 2025 - NRG: Please remind your senior to arrive at NRG Stadium no later than 1:30 p.m. with cap and gown in hand. Students must have appropriate shoes to walk….no flip flops, house shoes etc… Ladies must wear a dress or a blouse and skirt/slacks. Gentlemen must wear a collared shirt under their gown and slacks. NO JEANS OR SHORTS for anyone. Do not add decorations, writing, etc… to the hat. Please refer to the Graduation Code of Behavior for appropriate dress. Any student not complying with the dress code will not be allowed to participate.
Cap and Gown Information: Pre-order your cap and gown before April 1st. This will ensure that graduates get their gown closer to the middle of April. Gowns can be ordered on-line at www.balfourgrad.com. Some have asked, "Can my graduate wear his/her older sibling's black cap or gown?" The answer to this question is yes, but this year, Turner HS seniors will be wearing a custom year-dated stole along with their outfits. Be sure to order your stole and tassel on-line or purchase one on delivery day at school.
Medals and Honor Cords: All students receiving academic excellence medals and honor cords will be given these items during Senior Awards Night on May 2, 2024 at 6:30 pm. It is your responsibility to bring these awards with you to the graduation ceremony. Only the medals and cords approved by the PISD school board and distributed by the campus are allowed.

- Art Honor Society (Rainbow Cord)
- Military (Red, White and Blue Cord
Diplomas: Diplomas will be distributed by the row leaders after the ceremony. Any behavior by students, parents, or guests which detracts from the graduation ceremony will result in the removal of offending parties from the premises. We reserve the right to withhold diplomas for behavior until consequences have been served.
Noisemakers, Etc.: Please do not bring noisemakers of any sort. Bags will be checked at the door and all noisemakers, beach balls, or any other item that could be a distraction during the ceremony will be confiscated.
Students: Purses, Cell Phones, Cameras, etc.: Cell phones, cameras, and purses will not be allowed on the NRG floor…please only bring your keys with you to graduation. Keep all personal items such as cell phones, pagers, cameras, purses, makeup etc. secure in your vehicle or at home. If items are brought to graduation, they will be checked in and you will have to wait at the end of the ceremony to claim your personal items. The school is not responsible for lost items.
