Pearland ISD Commencement Attire & Dress Code
The following dress code applies to all Pearland ISD graduates participating in commencement ceremonies. The purpose of this dress code is to maintain a formal, dignified ceremony and ensure student safety.
Commencement Attire
Young Men: Collared shirt, ties are strongly recommended, dress slacks and dress shoes. No jeans or shorts. Boots may be worn.
Young Women: Dress or blouse with skirt or slacks, and dress shoes. No jeans or shorts. High heels or unstable footwear are not permitted.
Footwear Restrictions
· Tennis shoes and flips flops are not permitted.
· Shoes must be safe for walking on turf and stadium surfaces.
· No high heels will be allowed.
Jewelry & Accessories
· No lip rings, tongue piercings, or nose rings are allowed.
· Purses, bags, or personal items are not allowed on the field.
Approved Regalia
· Only district-approved stoles, cords, and medals may be worn.
· Any unapproved items will be removed prior to the ceremony.
Additional Guidelines
· Decorated mortar boards are not permitted. Any decorated caps will be removed and replaced with a standard cap.
· Students are encouraged to bring bobby pins or hair clips to help secure caps in windy conditions.
· Students not complying with the commencement dress code may be asked to correct attire before participating.
